189 Invitation Round Sep 2024

SkillSelect Insights: September 2024 Visa Invitation Round and Nomination Statistics

Lot of individuals, who are inclined to migrate to Australia follows skilled visa pathway. Once assessed by a body like ACS, VET – Individuals must express their intereset for visa invitaion via EOI Process. The process of submitting an EOI is straightforward and only requires providing personal information without uploading any documents. SkillSelect is suitable for those looking to apply for various visa categories, such as Skilled Independent, Skilled Nominated, Skilled Work Regional (Provisional), and Business Innovation and Investment visas.

SkillSelect Invitation Rounds

Australian home affairs regularly conduct invitation rounds for the Skilled Independent visa (subclass 189) and Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 491) – Family Sponsored, throughout the year. There are number of factors which impacts how many applicants are invited for Visa. These factors include current applicants in queue, economic conditions and so forth. However, it should be noted that Invitation rounds for state or territory government nominations for skilled visas remain unaffected by the Department’s invitation rounds.

Refer to our previous blog on 189 & 491 Visa Invitation round in June 2024 as well as December 2023.

Occupation Ceilings

Historically, percentage of employment figures provided by the Australian Bureau of Statistics plays an important role in identifying ‘occupation ceiling’ i.e. a reasonable upper limit on the number of invitations within occupation groups. However watch out our other blogs to gain insights into how with new migration policy of Australia, it will become even more structured and defined.

Latest Visa Invitation Round Data on 5th September 2024

During the latest SkillSelect invitation round held on September 5, 2024, visa invites were sent out for the Skilled Independent visa (subclass 189). Interestingly like June 2024 invitation round, number of ‘Regional Visa (491) – Family sponsored stream’ were again zero.

As anticipated, this invitation round was bigger than June 2024 round. While Department offerred led 5,292 invites in June 2024 invitation round, this time it was 7,973 invites. Nearly 50% more invites as compared to last invitation round.

Going by the migration planning levels, the number seems to be quite high. However, going forth – it will be better to bet on Regional and State/Territory nominated visas as compared to Skilled Indepdent visa alone.

Testimonials

I am excited to share my exceptional experience with KnN Migration Advisors regarding their professionalism and service quality. Although I may struggle to capture all the details, here’s a summary: I contacted Nidhi Mam at the end of April 2024 because I was only receiving points for one year of experience instead of the three years I was entitled to. After thoroughly reviewing my documents, she resubmitted my ACS assessment through a pilot launch program in ACS, which I wasn’t aware of earlier, leading to a successful outcome. She diligently followed up with ACS to address any delays, and, as a result, I received points for three years of experience and got an invitation on June 13, 2024. Nidhi Mam also ensured I promptly scheduled my medical exams and obtained the PCC, leading to a visa grant on August 22, 2024, with no additional requests from the case officer. Her personal attention and professionalism were crucial in securing a direct grant in less than two months after lodging the visa application on June 26, 2024.
Her expertise is truly impressive; she grasps clients’ needs and offers personalized guidance with genuine care.

Some noteworthy points are:

  • Tasmania and South Australia have done maximum number of nominations

Refer to our previous blog on state nominations allocation for both 190 and 491 Visa to understand the number of allocations, which Australian states can still potentially do.

  • EOILeaving QLD aside, NSW and Western Australia has barely used (~1%) of their allocation per these numbers.
